►Academy of Finance + Academy of Hospitality & Tourism
The career pathway programs offer a course of study that prepares students for careers beyond high school and opportunities for internships and employment while attending high school.
►English Language Development
The Chief Sealth ELD Department offers ELD Language Arts 9, 10, and 11, ELD World History 1, 2, and 3, ELD U.S. History and American Government, ELD science, ELD Health and ELD Senior Project. ELD students are expected to immerse themselves in reading, writing, listening, and speaking English while learning the essential content of each course. In addition, our students will practice social skills and learn about the customs and cultural traditions here in the United States, and well as the varied customs and traditions of their classmates.
►International Baccalaureate Program
Chief Sealth is an International Baccalaureate World School. We offer a variety of IB courses as well as the full International Baccalaureate Diploma Program - offering students an excellent way to expand their personal and academic horizons. For more information, visit Chief Sealth IB.

Intermediate Choir – open to any students interested in singing
Honor Choir – for students in grades 10-12 who have successfully passed an audition; some spaces still available, especially for gentlemen! (email dlmeyer@seattleschools.org or see Ms. Meyer to schedule an audition)
Mariachi – for students who play either violin or trumpet and those who would like to learn guitar, vihuela (similar to guitar) or guitarron (similar to string bass)
Jazz Band – for students who play trumpet, trombone, sax, piano, guitar, bass, or drums; an audition may be required
Concert/Marching Band – for current band students (students who do not currently play an instrument but wish to learn will be admitted on an individual basis)
Orchestra – chamber string ensemble provides string students personalized instruction
Steel Drums – open to any students who want to learn to play the steel drums; no previous experience required
Piano – Beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of instruction are offered
Men’s Vocal Ensemble – open to any guys who want to sing in an all-male choral group.
►Proyecto Saber
This one-of-a-kind bilingual/bicultural tutoring program has existed at Chief Sealth for over 25 years. Students in the Proyecto Saber class receive help in all academic areas as well as involvement in social and service activities. Proyecto Saber Website.
►Running Start
Chief Sealth students can participate in Running Start which is a program sponsored by the Community College and the State of Washington that allows juniors and seniors to work, take college classes, earn high school credits while completing requirements for graduation from Seattle Public Schools.
