    Senior Class Meetings - BE THERE!!! 

    All are during mentorship in the Auditorium:

    Sept. 22nd -    General Info and Jostens Presentation
                           (Jostens order day is Oct 27th during both lunches)


    Dec 1st -   More reminders on Graduation Requirements, 
                     (Senior photo will be taken at this meeting.)

    Feb 9th -   Info about, scholarships, service hours and finalized prom info.

    Apr 27th -  Grad Night Info, Prom, and other important class information. 
     
    Jun 1st -  Last reminders before Graduation, Grad Night Info, Prom, and other
                      important class information.

    Senior Prom: 
    June 16th from 8-11pm

    Venue and prices still TBD

    Guest forms for Prom are the same as they are for any dance are available in the ASB office (you can get a head start on these now!) Also available here: Guest Ticket Link


    Senior Awards Night: Wednesday, June 6th at 1 p.m. in the Sealth Auditorium.
    All families are welcome and students receiving special awards will be notified in advance. 

    Service Hours: 
    Your 60 documented service hours are due to the counseling office by March 31st. This is a graduation requirement so don’t delay. For forms and to check your totals, please see your counselor. 
    Caps and Gowns: 
    All students planning on walking in the Graduation Ceremony must have their cap and gown ordered through Jostens. Our school order date is Friday, Oct 27th, where you can order in-person or you must order directly from www.RRGrad.com. Students who need financial assistance must see their Counselor before March 31st to apply for a reduced cost cap and gown. 
    Senior Check Out Day: Friday, June 15
    Seniors MUST come to school this day to check out with teachers, clear fines and finish off their high school career.  
    Graduation Rehearsal: Wednesday, June 20th, from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

    Graduation Rehearsal is mandatory! If you do not attend rehearsal, you will not be permitted to walk at the Graduation Ceremony.

    Please arrive at CSIHS for rehearsal promptly at 3:30 p.m. You will need to stay the entire time. Plan ahead! Tell your boss in advance! Get a ride! No excuses! BE THERE!

    GRADUATION! Thursday, June 21st, 5 p.m. SWAC field. 

    Graduation Tickets: 
    This year we will be issuing tickets for the Graduation Ceremony. Tickets are free, and each graduate will be given 10 tickets to distribute. Tickets will be available starting June 1st. If you do not need all 10 you can return extras or give them to another student in need. Tickets are transferable (meaning if you don’t use yours, you can give them to another grad). Students needing more tickets can submit a request starting on June 8th, and all available extra tickets will be distributed by June 15th. The SWAC bleachers have ample seats for the senior class families, and we will do our best to make sure all reasonable requests for additional tickets are granted. Seats cannot be reserved and will be first-come, first-serve when the doors open at 4:00 p.m.

    Accessibility: 
    Special areas will be reserved for those in attendance needing accommodations including those in wheelchairs or those who cannot walk down the stairs. Please feel free to drive to the top of the stadium and drop off prior to parking.  

    Weather: 
    The super long-range forecast is currently calling for temperatures in the mid-60s with a less than 15% chance of rain during our window of time. The ceremony will happen on the field rain or shine – graduates will be reminded to bring light layers to wear under their gowns. The SWAC stands only have partial covering, so check the weather report and please come prepared!   

    Driving Directions & Parking: 
    We are graduating the class of 2017 conveniently across the street from CSIHS at the South West Activities Center (SWAC) and the address is 2801 SW Thistle St, Seattle, WA 98126. Parking is first-come, first-serve. Parking is available in the SWAC lot, and in the CSIHS lot. In addition, parking will be available along all the neighboring streets. We are NOT the only event scheduled at SWAC that day, (the WSHS graduation is immediately after ours) so please make plans to leave the SWAC afterwards to make way for the next ceremony

    Graduation Ceremony: Graduation will start promptly at 5:00 p.m.  The Class of 2018 will begin walking into the stadium beginning at 4:55 p.m. Upon completion the graduates will leave the field and be available for pick-up in front of the Sealth Auditorium. The WSHS graduation is immediately after ours, so the SWAC stands will be cleared as soon as our ceremony is finished. No family members or supporters will be allowed on the field at any time. Ushers will occupy the lower level of each set of stairs to ensure that people do not come down to the bottom of the stairs to stand or take pictures.  
     LifeTouch will be taking professional photos at the graduation ceremony. If you are interested in purchasing these, here's what you need to know:

         •  Everyone will be photographed, no need to sign up

         •  Photos will be online at events.lifetouch.com one week after the ceremony

         •  Complimentary proofs mailed to Graduates

         •  No obligation to purchase

         •  Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery

    Grad Night Update:

    We do not currently have a parent committee that is taking on this event. The PTSA would like to reach out and see if this is something the Class of 2018 students and their families are interested in continuing.  If so, we need a willing parent volunteer or group of volunteers, to take on this event for the class of 2018

    What is Grad Night? Traditionally, this event has taken place after the graduation ceremony in June. Grad Night keeps our graduates safe on what is statistically one of the most dangerous and tragic nights for our young people. This event is put on by parent volunteers for a drug and alcohol-free chance to have one last night together as a Class before heading out into the world. After the graduation ceremony, your now CSI Alumni will board the buses at the school and head off to top secret location for an entertaining, all-night party. To return the next morning, tired but content that the class of 2018 will be starting their new journeys, safe.

    What will it take to put this event on?  
    •         The CSI PTSA will help the chair person or group by providing use of the PTSA Web site to sell tickets, provide a binder with historical data and information on the event company that was done in the past.
    •         The PTSA will allow use of its banking system to pass through funds collected and to pay the event company.  

    What the chair person or group will have to provide;
    •         Ideas for the event
    •         Advertising and schedule selling of tickets at the school (lunches, before & afterschool)
    •         Scheduling any fundraisers for students who may need help with purchasing a ticket (the cost has run about $100-$125 or so in the past) 
    •         Finding volunteer chaperons for the night of the event, 
    •         Coordination any food donations for the event that night or breakfast the next morning 
    •         Most importantly, getting the scholars of 2018 excited about attending this one last event as a Class!
