PSAT and SAT
Chief Sealth is getting ready to administer the PSAT and SAT. The PSAT provides valuable experience for the SAT and helps students identify their academic strengths and weaknesses. SAT scores can improve college applications, open up scholarship opportunities, and provide a measurement of college readiness.
Below are the scheduled dates for ALL juniors and seniors. Students have already been registered. Please note your child’s exam and date.
Test | Grade | Groups and Dates |
---|---|---|
PSAT-NMSQT | 11th graders only | A–L: Monday, October 20, 2025, 8:45–12:30 M–Z: Thursday, October 23, 2025, 8:45–12:30 |

Please note: If your child requires accommodations according to their student support plan IEP/504, I need the following as soon as possible to receive the accommodations from the College Board. Only accommodations approved by the College Board in advance are permitted for the SAT and the PSAT/NMSQT.
- For students who have previously taken a College Board exam like the PSAT in their junior year with Seattle Public Schools, previous accommodations carry over and they do not need to make the request again, unless their 504/IEP plans have changed. If changes have occurred, a parent or guardian must submit the consent form to the school to begin the approval process.
- For students with new accommodation requests, a parent or guardian must submit the consent form to the school to begin the approval process.
Submit requests to me as soon as possible, ideally by COB October 6. Sooner is better, as the College Board might not have time to review the request otherwise. Please have the student return the request form to JARodriguez1@SeattleSchools.org in a separate email or drop it off in person at my office (201K in the Main Office).
Information on the testing site locations at Chief Sealth will be coming soon. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me by email or by phone at 206-252-8573.
