Young Writer’s Workshop is a summer program designed to teach creativity and communication skills to youth (ages 16 – 21). Youth write poems, essays, and short stories while building skills in revision, editing, and public speaking, all culminating in a public reading of
published works in “The Boot.”

Puget Sound Regional Council’s Summer Planning Academy (SPA) is a free leadership development initiative that encourages high school students to think about how planning can impact their communities and help residents lead better lives. Interested in urban planning, transportation issues and government? Then this is for you!
Session dates include:
July 29, July 31, August 5, & August 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(Optional) Graduation Session: August 11, 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

UW Nurse Camp runs July 17-21 and is a free week-long camp geared towards increasing access and opportunities in nursing to a more diverse population of high school students. Sophomores and juniors who are at least 16 years of age before the first day of camp are eligible.

Get hired to do summer laptop maintenance and assist with physical clean up and reimaging of devices. Must be able to focus and do repetitive tech work.

Sound Experience’s Girls at the Helm and go aboard Adventuress sailing ship to bring together teens with mentors who are experts in their field who want to share their skills and marine experience.

Open Studio Summer Intensive
A free, week-long program (August 7 – 14) to take a deeper dive into the design process including group work, individualized feedback and field trips!

For 4 weeks (July 27-August 21), tour construction sites, attend team meetings and work in a professional architecture environment, and build your portfolio!

Join UW’s Radiology High School Immersion Program and discover medicine through exposure to radiology (medical imaging)!
When: The sessions run June 22-26, OR July 20-24, OR August 24-28.

Why: Learn about radiology, anatomy, imaging with radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI and nuclear imaging through hands-on experiences.

Pedalheads, a learn-to-ride bicycle day camp for ages 2-12, is currently hiring Bike Instructors to help run their 2025 spring break and summer programs. Gain skills in relationship-building, teaching, and leadership; and hours are also available as a service-learning option. Want to earn your service hours supporting our neighborhood? The Highland Park Improvement Club is a non-profit located just down the road from the school on the corner of Holden & 12th. They are a community-owned hub in West Seattle for over 100 years, and as they continue our “Rebuild Project” and restart our full neighborhood programming, they are seeking Chief Sealth students to earn their service hours with them. Interested?

The Seattle Skills Center provides half-day advanced Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in Automotive, Health Care, Design, Engineering, Construction, and more. Students who complete a year of Skills Center courses earn 3 CTE credits including credit equivalency in Math, Science, English, and Physical Education.

Three PTSA scholarships are open to seniors, and we continue to share additional scholarship opportunities each week through our Student Leadership & Scholarship Program (SLP).
Trailblazer Scholarship – $2,000 (for first-generation students)
IDEAS Scholarship – $1,000 (open to all Sealth Seniors)
Stedman Mathis Scholarship – $1,000 (open to all Sealth Seniors)
DEADLINE – April 15th for PTSA scholarships

The Annual Seattle Association of Educational Office
Professionals (SAEOP) Scholarship is open now! They will award three $500 scholarships to graduating senior students who wish to continue their education at a 2-year, 4-year college, or vocational
school. This scholarship is open to all and is not a need based scholarship.

WA CPA Foundation Scholarships
- $2,000 for current high school seniors
- 2.5 GPA or higher
- Planning on majoring in Accounting or considering a related field (Business, Econ, Finance, MIS, etc.)

Sea Mar offers TWO scholarships!
1. Farmworker High School & College Scholarship acknowledges the barriers children of farm working families face in their pursuit of a college degree.

2. Latino/a Educational Achievement Project Scholarship
This scholarship is for Latino/a students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, perseverance, are go-getters, and have the strong potential to be contributors to their community.
